The Town
Åre town is situated on the south-facing slopes of Mount Åreskutan and the mogul piste is just 200 metres from Åre Square. Over the years, Åre has hosted a large number of major ski competitions, the resort is a regular host on FIS Alipne Ski World Cup tour and hosted the 2007 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. Last year the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup finals were held here in March. And of course, the Freestyle FIS World Cup 2008 , 2009 and this year the 2010 event.
Åre town has approximately 1,500 inhabitants and about 30,000 tourist beds, making Åre one of the largest ski resorts in Sweden; and most certainly the best! More about Åre here >>
